world-water-day-logoIf you’ve got issues with flooding, water quality or you’re looking for some ideas on conserving water, installing a rain garden or using a rain barrel, then a town hall meeting this Sunday just might be the ticket.

In celebration of World Water Day, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District is sponsoring a free town hall meeting on water and the environment from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 22 at the Friendship Park Conservatory, 395 Algonquin Road in Des Plaines.

Several elected state and county officials will be on hand to discuss water issues such as stormwater management, disinfection of the Chicago River, the disposal of pharmaceuticals and climate change. There will also be discussions about rain gardens and water conservation tips.

There will be refreshments and free parking. For more information, call 847-298-3500 or email .janet.rowland@mwrd.org
