Ferris Bueller’s friend is selling his home

370 beechA home that was used in the movie classic, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” is now for sale at a cool $2.3 million.

The architecturally significant East Highland Park home, known as the  Ben Rose Home at 370 Beech, is cantilevered over a ravine. The 5,300 square-foot modern steel and glass home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. It was designed by architects  A. James Speyer and David Haid and built in 1953.

The one-story home, which has no basement, sits on 3/4 of an acre and is surrounded by woods.  Taxes are $24,047 with a senior citizen exemption.

In the movie, the home was where Ferris Bueller’s friend, Cameron Frye, played by actor Alan Ruck, lived.  In one scene, Frye accidentally sends his father’s Ferrari through a glass wall and into the woods below.

A quote from the movie:

“Oh, I’m sorry. I can’t come to the door right now. I’m afraid that in my weakened condition, I could take a nasty spill down the stairs and subject myself to further school absences. You can reach my parents at their places of business. Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your concern for my well-being. Have a nice day!”
