June single-family home sales drop 19%

The number of Evanston single-family home sales last month dropped, compared to the same time last year.  There were 54 single-family home sales in June 2008, compared to 30 last month.

In addition, the median sales price of single-family homes dropped 19 percent last month, compared to June 2008 numbers.  The average market time increased from 114 in June 2008 to 176 in June 2009.

The 2009 numbers also included two foreclosures and four short sales, compared to only one short sale in June 2008.
