The theme for this year’s Evanston’s Green Living Festival is “Live Green, Live Inspired!”
The free festival will be held from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. this Saturday at the Evanston Ecology Center - 2024 McCormick Blvd.
The festival will feature exhibits by nearly 75 green businesses and organizations, and a keynote speech by award-winning environmentalist Howard Lerner who will talk about ”creating Evanston’s green economy while solving global warming problems,” which is scheduled at noon.
For the kids, there will green activities, crafts and story-telling by ”eco-musical” Parker in the Park, scheduled at 10:30 a.m.
Festival patrons can get hands-on experience in demonstrations ”on an array of green activities,” including composting, rain barrel use, car sharing and driving a bio-fueled car.
